Following our online participation one year ago, Art Refuge is immensely privileged to be partnering in person with @firstaidofthesoul whose brilliant directors Nathalie Robelot-Timtchenko and Eden Orfanos Shoro are again co-organising the All Ukrainian Art Therapy Conference in Lviv, Ukraine, March 15-17, 2024.

Alongside psychological therapists from across Ukraine, and expressive art therapists from the international community, Miriam Usiskin and Bobby Lloyd on behalf of Art Refuge will be offering workshops in trauma-informed arts-based psychosocial support on the conference theme “Unity in Creative Collaboration”.

From the organisers:

‘The experience of two years of full-scale war in Ukraine leads us into new challenges, teaches endurance, faith and unity beyond distance, care for the mental health of the individual and the nation.

The purpose of the conference is to create a space to support art therapists and exchange experiences and practices in the application of art therapy in times of war. Constructive communication among art therapy professionals will contribute to the enhancement of theoretical knowledge, improvement of practical skills and competencies of professionals in the field of art therapy, and will ensure protection from unintentional harm to various categories of the population affected by the war.’
