Connections and Light

Writer: Art RefugeArt Refuge

BRISTOL

We are pleased to share with you some further images from our Thursday evening darkroom/photography sessions taking place throughout March 2019.

Here two teenagers used an SLR analogue camera to take photos in the local St Paul’s area with curiosity, humour and playfulness.

As the light faded, the session moved back inside for the making of Photograms. Here a photographic image is created by placing objects directly onto the surface of a light-sensitive material which is exposed to light and then developed in the darkroom.

At the end of the evening the boys agreed to come to the next session together, an indication of a new connection made through a shared interest, not purely because of a traumatic journey.

This is the first stage of our Photography Project, leading into our AFGHAN BOX CAMERA PROJECT starting in May 2019, funding pending.
