TRACING, PRINTING, LINKING

Essex, January 23rd 2025

We are delighted to share just some of the many beautiful mono-printed, traced and drawn images from The Community Table in Essex yesterday with young men housed in Wethersfield Asylum Centre.

Some of the young men joined our wintry country walk through nearby villages to the camp in December, and used analogue cameras to document this local journey. Yesterday some of the resulting photos and memories from the day were warmly revisited, with drawing into and printing from the landscapes.

Other drawings were inspired by the drop-in space, such as the hairbrush and other tools from the barbers table… and there was the sharing of knotting skills..

These workshops are in part in preparation for a further print workshop in a professional print studio. This is planned for February as part of The Hope Bridge project.

More updates and posts to follow, so please watch this space.

I recently tried using edgy fonts, and I was blown away by how much attitude they add to a design. I applied edgy fonts to a poster for a music event, and it instantly gave the project a modern, rebellious vibe. These fonts are bold, sharp, and perfect for grabbing attention without feeling overdone. They work well for social media graphics, youth-oriented branding, or any project that needs a contemporary, standout style. I highly recommend trying edgy fonts if you want your designs to feel current and energetic.

This project beautifully showcases the healing and expressive power of art, especially through mono-printing, tracing, and storytelling. Drawing from personal memories and shared experiences brings depth to each creation. If you're continuing with tracing and detailed drawing work—especially in preparation for your upcoming professional print studio sessions—I highly recommend using WhiteScreenVIP. It offers a pure white digital light source ideal for precision tracing, sketching, and visual detailing. This tool is widely used by artists, educators, and animators to enhance focus, reduce distractions, and provide the perfect backdrop for fine motor skill development and creative exploration.
