TOGETHER LIFE

Le CÈDRE, Paris

June 17, 2025

A very hot day in Paris. Hot and close.

In the CÈDRE courtyard The Community Table and a portable loom attracted people of all ages. Weaving, building, talking, singing & dancing flowed together in an organic way.

A railway line with a station prompted talk about voyages past or to come, and the struggle to find a place in Europe. A portable speaker was used to play favourite tunes from different countries. The presence of a small child and a baby at the table led to memories and conversations about family members, and photos were shared on mobile phones.

This temporary community found an ease together today under the shade of a big tree. People content to pass time in conversation or silently absorbed in making. “Together life” as one partipant called it.

Word by Kate France, Naomi Press, Lauriane Lacombe, Élise Guillaume & Lili Gomond.
