Today’s session was held in the slightly chilly dining room while visiting healthcare workers occupied our usual space in an attempt to see as many residents as possible before the cold really sets in. The dining room is found at the end of a long corridor and so people weren’t aware of our presence until they entered into the space. As an audible welcome across the threshold, we quietly played songs of the famous and much loved Lebanese singer, Fairuz.
Today’s session was quieter than usual and we worked on small scales of music, old photographs through the viewfinders, mono-printing using pictures of spices from around the world, and type. These small moments of time and space through which we worked gave room for tentative explorations of The Community Table, for us to build upon our acquaintances, and for questions to be asked of what date and times we will return.
