On World Mental Health Day, we are honoured to share just a few images from our work across sites over the past couple of weeks - Paris - Dunkirk - Essex - Bristol representing the breadth of Art Refuge arts-based activity.
One of the participants from the CEDRE @caritasfrance in Paris made the sign ART = REFUGE - here carried by @katefrance1 - and in many ways our mental health and wellbeing support work with people on the move, displaced and seeking asylum in both the UK and France settings, offers just this.
This coming weekend - October 11-12 - our freelance team of artists and art therapists will be walking in the various other locations where our work takes place. We will be joined by friends, family, trustees, colleagues and canine friends to collectively walk the remaining 700 kilometres of our 1000 Km campaign. This is to raise vital funds for our arts-based mental health and wellbeing support for people seeking sanctuary, those who work with them, and adjacent communities, in the UK and internationally.
Money raised from this campaign will help us remain agile and light of foot in responding to when and where we are needed most. This includes our long term work in northern France and southern England, online support for a Sudanese staff team in Yida refugee camp, South Sudan, and other calls for our frontline training and skills-sharing as and when these arise.

We want to thank everyone who has contributed so far. Your generous support enables Art Refuge to continue its art and art therapy programmes in support of people displaced due to conflict, persecution, poverty and climate change, both in the UK and internationally.
