Art Refuge UK is an organisation founded primarily to support the newly arrived Tibetan children in Kathmandu (Nepal) and Dharamsala (India). It also supports orphaned girls in the Sri Yasodara Orphanage in Sri Lanka, and works to promote awareness of the refugee experience. It is currently funded entirely by donations.

At the heart of Art Refuge UK is the Art Refuge programme which has been designed to provide a context in which vulnerable children can paint, play and explore their experiences in safety, supported by trained staff and volunteers. Art Refuge UK aims to:
  • provide children with a foundation for personal growth
  • bear witness to their experiences
  • nurture their physical and psychological well-being and self esteem and prepare children for (re)entry to school
Art Refuge on the Radio
Earlier this year, we were interviewed in Dharamsala for the Tibet Connection radio show by Rebecca Novick. Tibet Connection is based in California and produces a one hour radio show each month. Rebeca has very kindly given us a copy of the interview to put on our site which you can find here Radiointerview
Volunteers needed
We are currently looking for volunteers with skills in sales and merchandising to help us sell the assorted products we have as well as helping the website be more well known. If you have any free time and would like to help, please contact us at: info@artrefugeuk.org
